IAFF-FC NEWS Saver's Credit and New Deferral Limits for 2013The IRS has announced new contribution limits for 2013. Participants can now defer up to $17,500 per year into their 457 and 401k plans. Click on the link below for tables on how the maximum deferral could impact your paycheck. Also check the link to see if you are eligible for the Saver's credit which is designed to help those in the lower income bracket to save for retirement. National City, CA implements the FrontLine Plan for Local 2744 members
East Peoria, IL implements the FrontLine Plan for Local 1498 
Previously East Peoria, IL only had one deferred compensation plan available. After many months of negotiations, the city of East Peoria added the FrontLine Plan as an alternative place for Local 1498 members to invest their supplemental retirement dollars. Tom O’Conner is the Nationwide Retirement Specialist who will provide education and service to the members who join the plan. Mattoon, IL adds the FrontLine Plan for Local 691 members
Due to the hard work and dedication of President Bart Owen and his Executive Board, the City of Mattoon, Illinois has made the FrontLine Plan available to the members of Local 691. HELPS Information Health Care Enhancement for Local Public Safety Officers. HELPS is a new retiree health care benefit that provides a tax-free distribution of up to $3,000 from retirement plans to help retirees pay for health insurance or long-term care insurance. Bessemer, AL Local 980
now has the FrontLine Plan Due to the hard work and dedication of President Ronald Moorehead and his Executive Board, the City of Bessemer, Alabama has made the FrontLine Plan available to the members of Local 980 and to all city employees. Scott Curtis is the Nationwide Retirement Specialist who will be providing on-going service and education for the members in the Bessemer plan. During the initial enrollments meetings over 75% of the members transferred to the new offering. Auto and Home Insurance IAFF members and retirees in the United States now have access to group savings on auto and home Insurance. This program allows you to purchase high-quality auto, home, and renters insurance at a discounted rate through the convenience of automatic checking account deductions or direct bill at home. The city of McKinney, TX has made the IAFF-FC FrontLine Plan, which is administered by Nationwide Retirement Solutions, available to members of Local 4017. Michelle Diaz of NRS will be responsible for ongoing education and service to the members of Local 4017. FrontLine Plan Web Site In 2005 the IAFF Financial Corporation launched a new web site specifically for the FrontLine program. The site offers retirement planning tools, calculators, and online access to your IAFF-FC FrontLine 457 Plan or Nationwide® 457 account. This is an exciting new tool for IAFF members to learn about deferred compensation, to review and check activity in your account, and to learn about other IAFF-FC/NRS programs such as the Post Employment Health Plan. Previously National City, CA only had one deferred compensation plan available. Recently, the city of National City added the FrontLine Plan as an alternative place for Local 2744 members to invest their supplemental retirement dollars. Anna Ramos is the Nationwide Retirement Specialist who will provide education and service to the members who join the plan. Anna has already signed up over 62% of the IAFF Members in the department and will be adding the rest in the coming months. 
After
several years of persistence and dedicated efforts by the
leadership of Local 8, the city of Great Falls recently
implemented the IAFF-FC FrontLine plan, administered by
Nationwide Retirement Solutions, for IAFF members. Now these
members have a choice in where they invest their supplemental
retirement assets. Ongoing service and education will be
provided to the participants by NRS representative Ryan
Gillette.
